Bank holiday weekend!

Brilliant, more time with the family – which means zero time with my paintings – and therein lies the issue. Not complaining, it’s a lovely problem to have, but come on people, the show is NEXT week. Ah well, forgive me if some of my last minute paintings are not framed.

I’m really looking forward to the Open Studio, I’ve seen some of the work of my studio mates going up, and it’s looking beautiful, inspiring, brilliant and a lot of fun actually.

Free booze (really) on Thursday 8 May in the evening, grab a glass and wander around. Of course I always suggest heading straight up the outdoor stairs to the RED studios on the top floor, come and say hi and then immerse yourself in the Wimbledon Art Studios. The May show is always lovely because it is so light in the evenings – and you get to see the work in its best light.

Enclosed are some of my recent paintings, I’ve kept them smaller this year, due to various ailments, I’ve found working big a bit of an issue. So there are 2 new series, all landscapes, I have found them emotional and challenging but in the end, comes a peace with completion and a moment where I sit back, look at it and know that it’s finished, and what I want to say has been said.

I hope you enjoy them, I really hope to see you next week for a chat and to show you what I’ve been up to.

Smiling in the sunshine,

Alison
