Welcome to Winter!
So happy to see the winter sky again! Low sun, soft browns, hues and a softness (some say grey) to the city, country and sea. I love it.
I’m just back after a wonderful few days in the Isle of Man, with family, doing as the locals do, including sea dips and saunas on the beach – it was rather fresh. The nights are so very dark on the little Isle, the clouds cloak the hills like tablecloths, the weather totally unpredictable from one side of the island to the other, and boy does food taste good there. I have uploaded photos onto Instagram, if you would like to see.
Full steam ahead now for the Open Studio at the Wimbledon Art Fair next week, flyer at the top! I will be there every day, and I would love to see you, have a catch up and show you what I’ve been working on. For parking, I always recommend trying Maskell Road, it’s cheap and you can leave the car there for 4 hours. Plenty of public transport also available, if you have questions, just drop me a line. If you can’t make it on 14-17 November, I can always do a private studio meet, again, just let me know.
I have decided to do a sale on my archive catalogue from 2023, if there are any paintings in there that you are interested in, please visit HERE. I’m doing a 20% discount on the prices until the end of the Open Studio.
Below are some images of the paintings I’m framing this week – many of you know I do my own framing; it is a true test of patience and really lights the fire to finish it and get painting again! I hate to admit it, but actually there is something very satisfying about the finishing touches, and for my paintings to be framed as I want them to be. I have so much respect for framers now.
I am updating my website later on in the year, streamlining it for easier use, so I will keep you posted on that. My photography has taken a really big back seat in the last few years, I enjoyed scrolling through that section last week! I will keep it online somewhere, but for now it is really only painting that I feel is representative of my creativity. Of course, I’m still available if you need a photographer.
Okay, that’s it for now, those frames are not going to make themselves!
A big thank you as always for your support
Alison
