May 2023 Newsletter
What a whirlwind month April was – absolutely non-stop! Two shows, Easter holidays, school strikes, somehow in the middle of it all I quietly did some painting, and prepared for the Wimbledon Art Studios OPEN DAYS! I will be there from Thursday 11th May through to Sunday 14th in Studio 208 (top floor RED studio). I’ve decided (if I can) to carry on working a little during the days, so you have been warned (it can get messy!).
Easter brought me a glorious week on the Isle of Man, visits to the stunning Fenella Beach, seals in Peel harbour, a long glen walk ended as we popped up on a deserted beach on the east coast, and the ever lively and perfectly proportioned Laxey beach and harbour. I took a trip on a tram too. BBQ’d fresh lobster on the beach on Saturday afternoon, by Sunday the fog was so bad the airport was closed and I was stuck! That is the Irish Sea weather for you. They call that fog Manannan’s Cloak, a story of an ancient Viking that would shroud the island in mist to keep it safe from those that would invade it, jolly effective it is too!
So, if you can come down to the Open Studio, I would absolutely love to see you there, back on my home turf after shows in Chelsea and Wimbledon Town. Thank you to the people who purchased my paintings, I am ever grateful. Thank you for signing up for the newsletter, lots of new ‘faces’ for me now on here!
See you soon,
