Am so proud of my boy. He was so moved and frankly disturbed by AELTECs plans to demolish Wimbledon Park (opposite their current stunning and frankly sufficient world class tennis facilities) and to redevelop with 32 tennis courts and an 8000 seater stadium. They PROMISED they would not do this as for Merton Council when they sold them the land for peanuts 30 years ago. The combination of our most wonderful tennis event and the local council BOTH breaking their promise is too much for this 9 year old and he has been busy campaigning for it to STOP.
