April has been a blur, mostly of snow after time up in the French Alps, can I paint mountains? I’m going to try, but they are so immense, so mind blowing, I’m not sure at all! Watch this space.

Okay, back to sea level art, well, I’m delighted to have some of my trees / Wimbledon Common paintings currently on show at Aubergine Gallery in Wimbledon as a part of their spring show. Alongside five other artists, it’s well worth a visit, full of colour and Spring joy! This runs for another 2 months, so plenty of time to see.

Wimbledon Art Fair is just a matter of weeks away, my cold sweat as I prepare to make and paint all the frames I need lets me know I have a bit of preparation to do for this! I think we have around 170 artists opening their studio doors this time, if you can come it is well worth the trip. If you need help on how to get there, just drop me a line and I can give you all the tips.

I will be showing this new series, all painted in 2025, on canvas and linen, my abstraction of the sea and seascapes heading into a more spacious and ‘felt’ so very deeply. I hope you like them.

Lastly, this little oil from last summer, it is a loose, free flowing tree study, presented in an oak frame. I’m donating it, and the proceeds to Save Wimbledon Park, to help in any way possible to stop the development of this stunning protected green space. If you are interested, please email me back.

Wishing you a peaceful Easter and looking forward to seeing at least some of you in May.

With very best wishes

Alison
